My wife Natasha and I purchased the Red Rooster Bendigo store in September 2008 and we haven’t looked back!

We were impressed with the Red Rooster model because it was a long-standing, well known brand and being part of an Australian owned company was really important to us. When we were joining Red Rooster there was already a large store network across metropolitan and regional Australia and this gave us confidence that the system was strong. We received intensive initial training and ongoing training support so we always knew what we were doing and the large network of Franchisees means there is always someone to talk with and share ideas.

With a young family, we were keen to find a business that would fit in around our family’s lifestyle and really wanted a business that could operate smoothly and consistently. When we first inquired with Red Rooster, we were blown away by the detailed processes and procedures that were in place and really strong systems that make running our store very simple. There is consistent advertising and a clear strategic marketing direction which definitely makes Red Rooster the brand leader of all modern Quick Service Restaurants. The wide range of healthier options Red Rooster offers is a definite advantage for us and this will only become more important in the future.

The decision has also been financially very rewarding. Red Rooster was an affordable option for us and gave us immediate positive cash flow that allowed us to grow our store and look towards purchasing a second store. Red Rooster definitely ticks all the boxes for us.

Red Rooster has been a huge part of my life for all of my working life and I’m truly proud of everything that I’ve achieved. I started as a cashier at my local Red Rooster store over 25 years ago with a dream to one day own my own store and now I’m a proud Franchisee of five stores in Melbourne.

Through some good old fashioned hard work and Red Rooster’s great culture of growth and development, I moved from cashier to store management, then area management. After marrying my husband Michael who I also met at Red Rooster and the birth of my son in 2003, it was time to enter the next phase of our Red Rooster journey and in August 2006 we purchased our first Red Rooster store. It was a great move. This gave me flexibility in hours. I was able to be a mum and was rewarded for my hard work. Just four months later the opportunity came up to purchase the local store I started with all those years ago. We had a great team in both stores – it really felt like family.

In 2009 we added three more stores to our group. Our Franchise Business Manager has been a great help in managing our transition from two to five stores. Our expansion has allowed us to promote one of our own Store Managers to an Operations Manager position to further help us grow the business and we have great cash flow and great flexibility. I have been with the company for many years and can honestly say that now is the most excited I can remember being about the company. Even though it is my business, I have the security of being part of the brand and system. I’ve ridden the highs and lows over the years but there is so much positive change right now – it is a great time for Red Rooster and its Franchisees.

Red Rooster Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst and Lithgow, Drive-Thru Outlets

When I started with Red Rooster as a Trainee Assistant Manager straight out of school, I had no idea that one day I would be a multi-store Franchisee. The more time I spent at Red Rooster working my way through the ranks, the more I realised that this was a system that I wanted to grow with. I held various roles in stores, area management and training and spent time in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The work was always challenging but rewarding and there are great people in the Red Rooster system that have grown and changed with me.

After 27 years, I purchased my first store in Dubbo in 2004 with my husband David. We bought Orange two years later and also purchased Bathurst and Lithgow in 2008. We have a great passion for the business and great staff. By training and developing our staff, we have been able to offer them great opportunities as our store network has grown. We are like one big family and it is a wonderful feeling turning up to work every day.

The brand has seen so much growth since I started and I have been invited to provide assistance to refine and improve Red Rooster’s systems and procedures to help us grow. It’s great to be part of a bigger network, being able to contribute to the future direction and have the support of all of the Red Rooster departments. The systems and products definitely have the edge above the rest and I would recommend the franchise to anyone who wanted a quality business.
